When and How to Wean
« on: September 29, 2014, 10:11:40 am »

Rabbits can be weaned after they are 4 weeks old but they can stay with mom up to 8 weeks of age. Its up to you as to when to wean depending on the rabbits breeding schedule.
It's best to wean a few kits at a time rather then all at once to give the moms milk time to dry up. Taking away all the kits at once can cause discomfort for the mom due to to much milk. Take 1 or 2 kits each day and the mom will adjust a little better.

If they stay for 8 weeks with the mom the kits will be very fat and healthy.
